Digital citizenship

The concept of Digital Citizenship
can be defined as the person utilizing information technology, in order to engage in society, politics, government, and those who use the internet regularly and effectively for the appropriate use of technology.




Digital citizenship is considered as different things by different people, and many people equate it with online safety, as well as something that is mainly for young students.  figure 1 displays a diagram of Nine themes of Digital Citizenship.

Nine elements of Digital citizenship are
1) Digital access
is an essential concept of digital citizenship, which allows for fair access to technology as well as the ability to use it in order to enhance the learning process for all. at the same time is a really an equitable opportunity for the same education for everyone to the use of technology.

one of the significant changes within the digital revolution is a person able to communicate with other people. the ability to engage with one another has not just grown digitally but anytime, anywhere situation, it will help us to keep in touch with friends and family who have emigrated.


3) Digital commerce
Digital commerce can be understood as the buying and selling of goods and services using the internet, mobile networks, and commerce infrastructure. it includes research, marketing activities, people, and technologies to execute at all touch throughout the customer buying journey. 



4) Digital literacy

 Digital literacy is important in this 21st contemporary world and it has lots of benefits to the entire user like we can buy movie tickets from your Smartphone, read the news on a mobile tablet and etc.
'It is referred to the ability to use information and communication technologies to find, evaluate, create, and communicate information, requiring both cognitive and technical skills.''




5) Digital etiquite
is a basic set of rules pertaining to behavior that needs to be followed to ensure the Internet is better for all users? Basically, it means “the use of good manners in online communication.
example e-mail, forums, blogs, and social networking sites.




                                                                                6) Digital law


Digital law can be defined as the legal rights and restrictions governing technology use. In today's world, many people are not responsible digital citizens. They are criminals, breaking the law, either knowing or not knowing, what is appropriate or inappropriate technology use. In order to create a functioning 21st-century global society with responsible digital citizens, students need to be taught and informed of these violations. 




7) Digital right and responsibilities

Can be defined as having the right and freedom to use all types of digital technology while using technology in an acceptable and appropriate manner. As a user of digital technology, you also have the right to privacy and the freedom of personal expression.







8) Digital health and wellness
there are many issues regarding our health that we must think about while using computers.  The most significant issue that affects most people is computer addiction.  Some other issues have to do with our posture or eyesight and etc.  All Users need to be taught that there are inherent dangers of technology and how to protect themselves through education and training.






9) Digital security


Can be understood as the protection of one's digital personality, as it represents the physical identity on the network you are operating on or the internet service in use. It includes the tools which one uses to secure his/her identity, asset, and technology in the online and mobile world.
